l' epi d' or is in the hands of the Pultier family since 1960; now spanning three generations. A proud member of the Charte Boulanger de France, which guarantees high standards in quality, hygiene, and artisanal craftsmanship.
The croissant from L'Épi d'Or didn’t look very appealing from the outside, but the inside was quite the opposite. It had a beautiful open honeycomb structure and a rich buttery aroma and flavor. The interior was slightly yellow, and while the crust could have been flakier, the mouthfeel was wonderfully airy; like a cloud.
The pain au chocolat from L'Épi d'Or showed the layers more clearly on the outside than the croissant did. When I cut it open, it again had that slightly yellow color. The internal structure was fairly even, though perhaps just a bit too open. The flavor was, once again, very good, though it could have been a bit crispier.
The baguette had a very nice color on the outside and was pleasantly crispy, but the inside was a bit uneven, i didn't realy find it magical
